Sometimes Family Secrets Should Stay Secret

1978. After a high-speed chase and a violent death in London’s East End, we shoot over to the West End and meet mixed-race teenager, Juliet, who lives in West London with Gerry and Maureen Hobson and their son, Colin. Believing she’s killed him, she flees.
Sleeping rough, she’s urged to search out a Julius Nicholson, an East End crime boss whose health and his grip are faltering. He no longer trusts his foot-soldiers and his self-proclaimed number two, Christopher ‘CARROT’ Kibble, is unknowable. Julius’s son is dead, and he now feels isolated, having long since exiled his once-trusted lieutenant, ‘CHISEL’, aka Gerry Hobson and obliged him to raise Juliet, the fruit of his extra-marital affair with West Indian, Angelica.
Julius sends Carrot to find his daughter, now seen as his possible successor. Displeasing Carrot, who plans to succeed Julius himself, even if that means disposing of his boss. Juliet finally meets her father, Julius, who agrees to tell her all about her mother if she runs an important errand for him. Meanwhile, discontented Gerry has been hired by Julius’s rival, Tom Adams, who orders Gerry to torch Julius’ house. Juliet’s journey of discovery is one that threatens not only her sense of identity but her life and future too.
